How do I know when to change the battery in my PetSafe In-Ground Little Dog Receiver Collar?

There is a Receiver LED Indicator Light that will flash red once every 20 seconds to indicate a low battery condition and serve as a reminder to replace the battery as soon as possible.

You can test the battery operation in the In-Ground Little Dog Receiver Collar by removing the collar from your pet and walking into the boundary zone you have set up with the Receiver Collar in your possession. The Receiver Collar should emit a tone or stimulation (depending on the settings you selected when setting up your PetSafe Fence/Barrier System). If it does not, it could be a sign that the battery needs to be replaced.

How do I change the 3V battery in my PetSafe In-Ground Little Dog Receiver Collar?

It is important that you do not replace the battery in your PetSafe In-Ground Little Dog Receiver Collar while your pet is still wearing it, so be sure to remove the collar from your pet before attempting to change the battery.

To change the battery in your PetSafe In-Ground Little Dog Receiver Collar, first remove the old battery by turning the battery counter-clockwise using the edge of the Test Light Tool. Do not attempt to forcibly remove the battery by cutting into it or prying it open.

Once you have removed the old battery, insert your new battery and use the edge of the Test Light Tool to turn the battery clockwise using the vertical line on the battery as your guide to either activating the collar by pointing the line to the “ON” position or leaving it deactivated by pointing the line to the “OFF” position.
