How do I know if the battery in my PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar is still working?

You can test the battery operation in the Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar by removing the collar from your pet and walking into the boundary zone you have set up with the Receiver Collar in your possession. The Receiver Collar should emit a tone or stimulation (depending on the settings you selected when setting up your PetSafe Fence/Barrier System). If it does not, it could be a sign that the collar needs to be replaced.

How do I know when to charge the battery in my PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar?

Depending on how often your pet tests the boundaries and how frequently the warnings are emitted, each charge can last up to 2 months, but it is important to check the battery regularly to ensure that your system works properly.

There is a Receiver LED Indicator Light that slowly blinks yellow or red every 4-5 seconds when the battery is low, indicating that it needs to be charged. If the Receiver LED Indicator Light is blinking green, that means the battery is fine and does not need immediate charging.

The PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge.

Note that you should not charge your Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar every night as the frequent charging can have a negative effect on the battery life and performance. It is recommended that you use the Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar until the LED Indicator Light begins blinking yellow or red.

How do I charge the battery in my PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar?

It is important that you do not attempt to charge the battery in your PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar while your pet is still wearing it, so be sure to remove the collar from your pet before charging the battery.

To charge the battery in your Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar, lift the rubber plug so that you can gain access to the Receiver Charge Jack, leaving the rubber plug attached to the Receiver Collar. Then plug the Receiver Collar Charger into the Receiver Charge Jack on the Receiver Collar to charge the battery.

You will know that the Receiver Charger and the Receiver Charge Jack are properly connected and that the charge is in progress when the Receiver LED Indicator Light turns solid red.

A built-in safety circuit prevents the Receiver Collar from overcharging. You will know that the collar is fully charged when the Receiver LED Indicator Light turns solid green.

Note that the Receiver Charge Jack and Receiver Collar Charger are designed to only fit one way. Do not force the plug in backwards.

If you do not see a light even though you believe the Charger and Charge Jack are properly connected, it may indicate a charge failure and you should contact the manufacturer.
